Summer of 2014 was a special time for the memorable wedding in Newport, Rhode Island for Mac Budill and Courtney Menzel. The wedding theme was the celebration of two families becoming one. We kicked off the wedding celebration with an exclusive party where a local band got everyone excited for a unique weekend.
The following day all guests were picked up in a bus at their hotel to take them to the beautiful farm http://www.mounthopefarm.org. Once everyone arrived guests were directed to the ceremony via signs that was created out of wood. Following the ceremony guests went to the cabin to enjoy cocktails and seafood bar. Unique elements were seen throughout the event. Instead of having a traditional guest book, rocks were made available for guests to write messages to the couple.
For the dinner and dancing, guests were moved to a tent where we created a beautiful space with flowers and lanterns. Signature drinks that the groom and bride are known for were created and made available to the guests. Long farm tables were used and instead of using table numbers that indicate where guests sit we named the tables after the couples favorite songs. It was very common hearing guests humming their "table" song as they walked to their table.
Flip flops and pashminas were made available in a custom designed tin and positioned next to the dance floor.
After the reception concluded guests joined the fabulous couple at the hotel for a late night party which featured comfort food.
In each hotel room, guests were greeted with a gift bag which contained a very appropriate and appreciated hangover kit and snacks. Also, a Newport postcard addressed to the couple was included. Guests then were able to write and send a postcard so that the newlyweds were greeted with warm wishes upon their return from their honeymoon.
